Add a Product

Accessories

Use a Simple Product for Accessories as there are no user selectable product options.

  1. Navigate to the Product Admin Page (Products > All Products)
  2. Click the Add New button.
  3. Enter the Product name.
  4. Enter Product short description (appears between the price and Add to Cart button on product page)
  5. Enter Product description (optional and typically unused on this site–appears below the Add to Cart button on product page and is ideal for additional details)
  6. Select a Category from the Product categories section in the sidebar to the right. Or create a new one by clicking the Add new category link and completing the form. 
  7. Set product image:
    • Click the Set product image link located in the sidebar on the right side of the page.
    • The media manager will display images available to your site. Select one or select Upload Files to upload a new image from your device. Image Dimensions: ideally square with minimum of 300px.
    • Enter alt text (a description of what the image is) – IMPORTANT.
    • Click Set product image.
  8. In the Product Data section:
    • Select the General tab and enter a price into the Regular Price field (and a price into the Sale Price field as applicable–products on sale will also appear on the Sale page)
    • Select the Attributes tab
      • Select Accessories from the dropdown and click Add
      • Select the applicable Accessories term (eg. Patches, Pins)
      • Deselect Visible on the product page option
      • Click Save attributes
  9. Click the Publish button to save.

T-Shirts

Use a variable product for T-shirts as there are user selectable product options (sizes)

  1. Complete steps 1-7 above for adding a simple product
  2. In the Product Data section:
    • Change Simple Product to Variable Product using the dropdown field
    • Select Attributes tab
      • Select Size from the dropdown menu and then click the Add button
      • Select all applicable terms. Eg. S, M, L…
      • Deselect Visible on the product page option
      • Select Used for variations option
      • Click Save Attributes.
    • Select Variations tab
      • Select Add variation from the dropdown menu and click Go
      • Click on the newly created Any Size variation to reveal its options
      • Enter a price into the Regular Price field (and a price into the Sale Price field as applicable)
      • Click Save Changes
  3. Click the Publish button to save

Remove a Product

Unpublishing a product hides it without deleting it. This way it can be published again without recreating it.

  1. Go to the Product Admin Page. (Products > All Products)
  2. Hover over the product you would like to remove and options will appear
  3. Click Quick Edit
  4. Set Status from Published to Draft
  5. Click the Update button to save
